The Carvin PS12 is a speaker designed for use with a bass guitar amplifier. The speaker measures 12 inches in diameter. It has 8 ohms of resistance. Most bass guitar amplifiers are designed for speakers with 4 ohms, 8 ohms or 16 ohms of resistance. The amount of resistance that a group of four PS12 speakers produces is 8 ohms when wired in a combination of series and parallel wiring.

Instructions
things you'll need:
- Bass guitar amplifier with 8-ohm output
- Wire
- 4 Carvin PS12 speakers
- Solder iron
- Electrical solder
- Speaker jack plate
- Instrument cable
- 1Plug in the soldering iron. It will take a few minutes to warm up.
- 2Number the speakers 1 to 4. Each individual speaker needs to be connected differently. Numbering the speakers aids in keeping track of which speaker is wired to what.
- 3Hold the end of a piece of wire to the "-" connector on the back of PS12 speaker #1.
- 4Touch the tip of the soldering iron to the electrical solder. A drop will melt onto the tip of the soldering iron.
- 5Touch the tip to where the wire and connector are touching. The solder will dry near instantaneously, holding the wire to the connector.
- 6Solder the other end of the wire to the "-" connector on speaker #2.
- 7Solder a wire to the "+" connector on speaker #2 and the "-" connector on speaker #3.
- 8Solder a wire to the "+" connector on speaker #3 and the "+" connector on speaker #4.
- 9Solder a wire to the "+" connector on speaker #1 and the "-" connector on speaker #4.
- 10Solder a wire to the "-" connector on speaker #1 and the "-" connector on the speaker jack plate.
- 11Solder a wire to the "+" connector on speaker #4 and the "+" connector on the speaker jack plate.
- 12Connect the out port on the bass guitar amplifier to the in port of the speaker jack plate using an instrument cable. Some bass guitar amplifiers have several out ports. Use the port marked for 8 ohms.
